Webex App: Call anyone with a phone number

If your organization has configured your Webex App account to let you call other people's phone numbers, you can call anyone who has a phone number. When you call like this, it's just like making a regular phone call from any other type of phone.

Access to a dial pad is available if you're set up with a phone service such as Unified CM, Webex Calling, or Calling hosted by a Service Provider.

Desktop

  1. Open Webex and sign in.

  2. Go to Calling, enter a phone number in the dial pad, and then choose Audio call or Video call.

During your call, click More options to access advanced calling features. Put your call on hold or transfer to someone else. With some configurations, you can also merge calls or start a conference call.

If your administrator has enabled call security for your organization, you'll see a Lock icon at the top right of your calling window, letting you know that the call is secure.

Other ways to make calls to phone numbers:

  • Call from search.

  • Highlight a number and use the keyboard shortcut to make a call.

  • Enter alphanumeric phonewords, such as 1-800-FLOWERS or 1-800-CONTACTS, and Webex automatically converts the letters into numbers.

iOS

  1. Open Webex and sign in.

  2. Go to Calling, tap Dialpad, enter the phone number, and then tap Call.

During your call, to switch to your speakerphone, tap the speaker icon and then select Audio Settings.

Android

  1. Open Webex and sign in.

  2. Go to Calling, tap Dialpad (or if you're configured for call pickup, tap the call pickup icon and then Dialpad).

  3. Enter the phone number and then select Call.

When you make a video call, your speaker is used by default. When you make an audio call, your earpiece is used by default. To switch the audio of your call, tap the speaker icon and then select Audio Settings.
