If you make and answer a lot of calls throughout your work day, or you manage multiple lines or shared lines, open the calling dock window (multi-call window) from Webex App. From there, you can make and answer calls, get a quick view of your line status, and access common calling features such as mute, hold, share, conference, park, barge, transfer, and record.

The calling dock is currently supported on Windows. Mac support is on the roadmap.

Some features are limited by calling service. Line status, barge, and privacy require Unified CM. Watchlist is only available for Webex Calling and Webex hosted by a Service Provider.

Webex App calling dock

Open the calling dock

  1. Click Settings, then Calling, then Calling dock.

  2. Choose one or both options to turn on the calling dock: check Turn on Calling dock, and to use a keyboard shortcut, check Use Ctrl + Shift + X to toggle Calling dock on or off.

  3. Under Windows settings, check Keep Calling dock in front.

  4. Under Incoming calls, choose Bring Calling dock to front on incoming call or Use default call notification.

  5. Click Save.

Pin the calling dock

Drag the calling dock to the edge of your screen until the screen becomes smaller. While docked, hover over the icon to review the dock or click it to open.

Line status (Unified CM)

Color-coded indicators at a glance:

  • Flashing amber: a call is coming in.

  • Solid amber: you're on a call.

  • Solid green: the line is free.

  • Solid red: the line is in use by someone else.

Common actions in the calling dock

  • Make a call: from the bottom of the dock, pick the line (drop-down arrow) and then type a name or number in the search field or use the dial pad.

  • Mute: on the line you're using, click Mute. The icon turns red when you're muted.

  • Hold: on the line you're using, click Hold. To resume, click Resume.

  • Share screen: click More, then Share, then follow the desktop screen-share steps.

  • Conference: click More, then Conference, enter a number or name, choose Audio or Video, then join the two calls.

  • Park: click More, then the park icon, and follow the park-a-call steps. Your administrator must add you to a call park group.

  • Barge (Unified CM, shared line): when a shared line is in use, click Barge to join.

  • Transfer: click Transfer, enter the recipient, then choose Transfer now (blind) or Consult first.

  • Record: choose the line, click the record icon, then follow the desktop steps.

Voicemail and call history

Click the voicemail icon to listen to voice messages and follow the desktop steps. Click the missed calls indicator to view call history. If you're enabled for Microsoft Teams integration, these links open Microsoft Teams.

Watchlist, pickup groups, call queues, and hunt groups

  • Watchlist (Webex Calling and Service Provider): see a list of people in your Busy Lamp Field (BLF) list and pick up their incoming calls.

  • Pickup group (Webex Calling): when a group member has an incoming call, you'll see a pickup notification. Click Pick up to answer.

  • Call queue status: click queues at the top of the dock, then pick a status (Signed In, Signed out, Available, Unavailable, Wrapping up). Toggle to join or unjoin a queue.

  • Hunt group (Unified CM): click the hunt group button at the top of the dock to sign in. If you miss a call you may be signed out automatically, depending on how your administrator configured it.

Privacy on shared lines

When you start using the calling dock, privacy is on by default. Others can't see when you're using a shared line and can't barge in. To turn privacy off, scroll to the bottom of the calling dock and toggle Privacy off. Requires Unified CM.
